Coverage
Numerous articles and editorials have been published about ARMC's land use
proposal and the controversy surrounding it. The mainstream press (ie. Athens
Banner Herald/Daily News or ABH) was guardedly sympathetic to our stance when
the proposal was first made public. Then, for a few weeks, the tone of ABH's
editorializing shifted in the direction of "If it's ARMC (a major advertiser)
it has to be good." For a while, ABH seemed firmly committed to supporting
a negotiation process between ARMC and the affected neighborhoods. Now, once
again, ABH's moral compass seems to be responding to the powerful magnetic attraction
of a large advertising account. The Flagpole's position has paralleled CHN's
throughout this controversy. Flagpole, by the way, lost its ARMC account months
ago.
The list below is as comprehensive as we have been able to make it. Any articles

of the Athens Observer, are not available online.
